Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help people and their families as they begin the important process of creating a Will and planning for their Estate! In order to ensure our clients are getting the very best assistance, we ask that potential volunteers first complete a series of training materials. These educational materials are designed to equip you with the tools necessary to facilitate the goals of our project and our clients.
We also ask that potential volunteers submit a Volunteer Access Request Form (see links below) with some information about you like your name, email, and whether you are looking to fulfill a New York state or Law School pro bono requirement. Attorneys, please fill out the Attorney Access Request Form; Law Students, please fill out the Law Student Access Request Form. We very much look forward to working with you!
Here are some of the tasks you can expect to perform as a volunteer with the Generational Wealth Project:
- Attend meetings with clients to review their Future Planning Intake Form and help answer questions they may have about how to complete it
- Sort through template documents and pull out common clauses that will be useful in drafting a document based on client goals
